I woke up this morning and had a few text messages from Susannah, Jace and Stephen, Jace was wondering what the workout was and i knew what Stephen's said before i opened it, because i was going to ask him if he'd done the work out yet too. Anyways, i went up to his house in North Fork Park, and because there was too much snow on the dirt road we decided to run up to Camp Utaba is, we had a 1 mile warm up down hill. Then the fun was about to begin. We were giving a workout by our coach to do today, because we're still on spring break. we did 4 x 2 minutes hard with 1 minute rest, then 6 x 1minute hard with 30 second rest, and finally; 8 x 30 seconds hard with 30 seconds rest. I decided that if we did the workout up hill we'd get a better cardio and muscle workout so we went up towards Camp Utaba. I felt really good during the run, i was getting tired and sore going up the hill, but my hamstring was feeling great!! and there was no inside shin pain thanks to my Brooks Green Silence! :D love them! i could feel something at the bottom of my shin muscle which went away because of the amount of shin muscle i've aquired over the years! :P the workout went great had little down hill on the 30 seconds hard but the whole thing was up hill, we covered about 3 1/2 miles with the whole workout and had a wonderful and beautiful cool down back to Stephens house which was about a 3 miles! i love the valley in the spring it makes early morning runs sooo much fun! i hope the weather cooperates throughout the following week, i really want to run a 4:34 at the Grizzly invite!

Well today was an easy day, i have no clue as to why distance even goes up to the track and does the too short of a warm up (1 lap) and then some agilities and static stretching, then Paxton told us that we needed to go on a 4 mile run. but i was begging her to let me do Steeple chase this saturday at the Grizzly invite, so she said that if i went to coach Pebli and he passed off my hurdling form (which was pretty interesting cause i've never hurdled before) and then Paxton said i could do it!!! i've always wanted to try it before and now i can!!! :D way excited for that! although there are some conditions, if my hamstring hurts at all during i have to pull out and if i can't/have trouble making it over the hurdles then i have to stop. which i'm totally ok with them cause i'm not even going to try very hard cause i'm going to PR my mile to a 4:34 or faster!! so i'm really excited for the mile at this invite! can't wait!! oooo and some other things, i'm writing India on my left calf for Dustin Randell cause he can't run at that meet so my left leg goes to him, and i'm putting the most wonderful, beautiful and supportive runner i know, Susannah Hurst's initials on my Right Leg!! :D you always keep me and my hamstring going strong! this meet is going to rock! can't wait! and then after i got it pasted off, i ran a few miles with Dustin up on the track. Ha ha so we got our new track shorts today, and my extremely short shorts and their awesomeness are mediums so i said i wanted mediums, well when then came today medium isn't exactly what i need...........they don't fit my waste line and they are waaaaaaaayyy long, so i just wasted 20 bucks, thanks chili, nice to see where this blood shed money of mine that could be going to run's with Susannah is going! >:(

Well Today we had a Tri meet at Weber! Davis and Layton were the schools that showed up and the weather seemed to be cooperating fairly well. But unfortunately decided to turn to a nice soft pattering rain which wasn't too bad! i was feeling kinda sick and sad, so susannah called me and totally lifted my spirits!!! thanks hun you totally rock!! i was stretching and getting ready when chili came onto the speaker and said that the meet was cancelled due to lightning :( :( i screamed NOOOOO!!! Jace was laughing his head off at me cause it was cancelled literally two events before the 2 mile! :( so i did a 2 mile tempo run and ran a few miles with Dustin. ha ha ha and we were in the illiptical/film room and we were watching Spaceman while illipticalling!! :D i also got a real nice massage from my mom today which will help my sore muscles! Running really helped get a lot of stress out of me today and thanks again Susannah for lifting my spirits after a crazy day! running is totally awesome! :D

Well today i was waaaaaayy stressed so i was happy to be able to change and run! We first went up to the track and i warmed up with dustin for 15 minutes which was pretty nice, then we did agilities which felt good. This dude who had graduated from Weber High and ran track a long time ago was giving back to the school so all the guys got free ties!! sexy oh yeah!! XD ha ha ha. anyways, so then Paxton told us that we were going to be doing a 40 minute Indian run (Dustin run to us, Fireman to Susannah <3) we went up to canal road and the fun soon began, it was suppose to be a medium pace, so Jace and I were constantly telling people to pick up pace or slow it down cause no one can keep pace!! some kids got too tired to keep going half way through :/ but we weren't tired at all really, Jace and I were singing and yelling stuff and talking basically all the way through and it felt pretty nice! when i got back i wanted to cool down on the baseball field but the coach yelled at me for running on it (WTFT!!) ha ha ha so i went up to the track and did a few laps and then stretched a little when i talked to Pebli, and he helped me with my hurdling form for about ten minutes. Finally it was Ice bath time!! Dustin and Hone had already filled it up and were doing ab's when i got down to the trainers room. so they took one first >:( Dustin wimped out 9 minutes in because it was 48 degrees! so i hopped in and stayed in for 16 minutes!!!  it had warmed up to about 51 when i finished but it was sooooooo cold!!! :) but went numb and felt really good!! :D my right lower hamstring has been feeling weird but it's not hurting at all right now!! so i'm gonna ice it and then stretch before bed just to be safe. i may ice again as well! DON'T WORRY SUSANNAH IT WON'T GET INJURED!!! :D

Today was the Grizzly Invite!! woke up at a very unwanted time in the morning. we all got onto one bus and then we had to move to another bus because we didn't need two.... we kind of slept but the amazing Susannah called me in the morning and started the day out better than the weather (i love hearing your voice, makes my world go round (that and running)) ha ha well it was raining lightly when we got there and we just had a giant pile up of us guys to keep warm, it was funny and warm. Dustin did pretty darn good in the 3200 ran a 9:53, not his best but then again this is a smaller meet. Then after a billion sprinting events Jace and I finally got to warm up for the mile! Jace was totally pumped cause he wanted to break 5 sooooo bad! he was in the second heat, he ran a 4:55. I was totally ready for my race, i had warmed up great, stretched perfectly, applied biofreeze at the right moments to keep my hamstrings loose. First mistake, i ran with a watch..... i know i cannot do that..... i've known it since being a sophomore and yet i still did it. I was a little nervious, scared and stuff but i told myself: "you know what you just run your own race and hit your times, don't worry about placement or the other runners." it helped a lot. (ps i also had India written on my left calf and SH for Susannah Hurst on my Right) it really started to rain.... like really bad when the 3rd heat (us) lined up. I was mentally strong and ready to go, pumped and excited. the first lap was a 69 i was feeling strong and wonderful (i was going off a 68 pace written on my wrist.....(second mistake)) the second lap was the same 69 i crossed at 2:18. two seconds slow of the pace i was going off of. still good though.                               I have no idea why, how or what happened during my 3rd and 4th laps. i was right on in the beginning. another thing i couldn't figure out was why my hamstrings were tight and not feeling it. I did everything right, and the sad part is that it wasn't even were i'm injured! my third lap was a 3:34, i would have to run a 60 to get my time. I started to pick it up and i felt like i was running my hardest through the whole race. I still have no idea why or how, i feel sooooo dissapointed in myself right now. I promise next week at the Clearfield meet, i'm running a 4:30!! this is sooo not going to happen again. I Can't wait for next week. the meet wasn't a total bust. the Sun came out and things cleared up. i couldn't do the steeplechase because of my hamstrings :( i did get to talk to susannah again with totally brightened the day. good job with your races and especially with East Girls beating fremont girls!!! :D way to kick pockets
