Day 2 of Region!!!! sooooo excited for the 3200 i was!!!! we showed up at Syracuse and chilled in the shade by the restrooms cause there was none anywhere else. Paxton kept telling me to get covered up and stay out of the sun. it was about 70ish out sooooo that wasn't really going to happen. I decided to warm up because it was about 30 minutes before my race and need to do what i usually do i warmed up 10 and did some brief stretching and agilities. the girls ran first and then we were up. Dustin and i had been talking about some stratagy, he said that Caleb would go out about 70 so i should run about a 75 first lap. i was thinking the same thing. Before i knew it we were lined up on the track. I was going in at 9th place but was now 8th because Dustin wasn't running it. (he had already qualified time wise). the Race started and i went out quickly to make sure i had a good start and didn't get boxed in. I was sitting behind and in a nice group of well Davis runners. my first lap was a 71!!! 71!! WAY FAST FOR THE FIRST LAP. now looking at it Caleb must have ran a 67 or so cause he had a good 3 or so second lead on the chase pack. the laps quickly began to amount up. By around the third lap we were pulling Caleb in. I remember thinking about bike racing and how theres usually a leader who breaks away from the pelaton. We pulled him in before the first mile. my first mile was 4:53!! right on qualifying pace!! I remember counting the runners in front of me. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 ok i need to move up a little. through out the rest of the race i was slowly working my way through the pack. going onto the end of the 6th lap i passed inbetween two Davis runners and one was talking to the other trying to motivate him. I think passing in between them showed them who's race this was gonna be. Alex was in the lead only by about 7 feet and i caught up to him and came onto his wing going into the 7th lap. We started to pick up the pace a lot and i passed him on the back stretch and was leading for a little. He passed me going into the last lap, i thought he had me, that i couldn't get him. I decided to give it one more shot, and on the back stretch i passed him. I hit the 200 meter mark and was on my toes kicking (i always kick at 200m) I felt the power and motivation and energy that this was mine, that i was going to state. I was pushing sooooo hard, giving it my all. I crossed the line in 1st place, region champ and a huge PR. none of that went through my mind though. all i could think about was i was going to State!! Paxton was freaking out and i was yelling i was going to state!! i was sooooo happy!! I knew i could qualify, but never thought i'd win. I had a 17 second PR the time was 9:49.92 Just 5 seconds shy of qualifying time!! my legs were soooo tired and i was sooo happy to end my senior year with a big bang at Region! State is going to be soooo much fun!! Everyone said that it was sooo funny to watch Paxton freak out. later watching video of my race it looks like i finished with a 50 meter or so lead.

Later i had the 800 i didn't really want to run it but i was laughing when i got up to the line cause i was in last on the waterfall. I ended up dropping out half way through cause of my legs and didn't see that it was worth it. Region was amazing and State is going to be even better!!
