Day 2 of the BYU Invatational!!!! totally epic! Got to drive down (even though i wasn't suppose too!) But i warmed up 10 minutes with Susannah. I then hurried up and grabbed my spikes cause they were sorting everyone in the bull pen and i needed to hurry up. Jamon Carver was in my heat so as we were sitting there stretching and doing some agilities on the track, i was going over some strategy with him, i told him that we should work together on the last two laps and push each other cause i knew that the race would pull us into a 2:15ish 800, and it did i crossed about 2:15-16. not quite sure but it was basically right on pace. I told him that not to take the lead too early otherwise we'll die. We lined up and i made sure i got a good start this time. i was in a pretty good position the whole time. it was going onto the 2nd lap when i saw Jamon sprint up to the front. (his one mistake) he knows and i know that if he goes out too fast i'll catch him no matter what. I did, by the time i was on the third lap i was ahead of him! i was pushing it as hard as i could that third lap so i could stay consistant. I was pushing as hard as i could and by the 200 meter mark i was on my toes and passing some kids. I crossed the line at 4:36! a 3 second PR!!! soooo happy about that! =D I was soooo tired afterwards i took a while to recover, after i cooled down and stretched i went and fell asleep next to Susannah under the East High tent. My Medley team came and got me (I was actually surprised that they knew where to find me!!) This was my first time doing the Medley ever and my first time this year doing the 800 competatively. We warmed up, but warmed up too early cause we sat around for soooooo long!! it sucked. we finally got out on the track, and I was in first place when they handed off to me for the 800! i held it for the first lap and ran a 61, unfortunately i wasn't fresh and the mile really began to sink in! i ended up running a 2:08! not bad but i could have ran 2:01 or so. I had to leave for SLC for pics but came back after to try to catch Susannahs races, but sadly i missed those. i did get to watch some more of Weber race which was way cool! Best two day meet since Simplot Games!! =D
